United States Grand Prix is round 18, 25 Oct 2026. The review publishes the day after.

The lap

The lap, drawn from the official circuit diagram and simplified to 218 points. This is the shape of the circuit; the length and corner count in the strip above are the published figures, hand-checked against the circuit’s own specifications.

8 official grandstands, grouped by corner — hover or tap a marker to see the individual grandstand codes. We are not marking DRS or passing zones here: under the 2026 rules the count and location of where overtakes actually happen is not yet established, and we are not publishing a guess.

Zone and stand structure, checked 29 Jul 2026. No prices — those move, and we do not publish one until it has been checked and dated.

General admission

General admission here is genuinely good: no reserved seat, but you can move around the circuit all day and pick your spot. The lawn on the incline at Turn 1 is the one everybody wants, and it is worth the climb.

The grandstands

The Turn 1 grandstand is split into seven sections, and the numbering matters — sections 1 to 4 are closest to the track. The Main Grandstand sits directly under the Turn 1 climb. Turn 4 Premium has individual seats and, unusually for this circuit, an awning over the upper level.

What a Austin weekend actually costs

A purpose-built circuit that borrows its best corners from elsewhere, opening with a steep blind climb to Turn 1 that is the most dramatic first corner in the sport.

Turn 11 to Turn 12 is a long straight after a hairpin, which is the classic 2026 layout for a full deployment run. Expect that to be where the passes happen.

Seats we could actually find on sale at Austin ran from €750 up to €1500 (general admission through to the priciest grandstand, not counting hospitality or Paddock Club) — checked 31 Jul 2026. Ticket prices move constantly and this is not every seat at the circuit, so treat it as a rough budget, not a quote. A typical return flight from a mid-priced European hub, booked around two months out, runs about €700 a person; add roughly €653 a person for three nights in a mid-range hotel over the race weekend. These are grounded, dated estimates, not live quotes. See the full cost ranking for how every circuit compares. What we can tell you is which decision moves the total most, and that is grandstand or general admission, followed by where you buy it.

Getting there

Shuttles from Austin are the standard route; the city itself is the reason many people pick this race. COTA has its own on-site camping, a genuinely popular and cheaper alternative to an Austin hotel room — rooms in the city fill up and rise in price fast given how much else is usually going on that same weekend.

Where to sit

The bank at Turn 1 is the one to sit on — you look down at the whole opening lap. The long back straight into Turn 12 is the other option.

Weighing it against other circuits

Dates move; circuits do not. This block reads from the season overlay, so it is right whenever you happen to be reading it.
