Even though Paul Ricard Circuit is state of the art, it is a track with history. It was Build in 1969 at Le Castellet, not far from the city of Marseille in the south of France by french entrepeneur Paul Ricard.

On april 19th 1970 Circuit Paul Ricard was opened and for a long time it was known as one of the safest circuit in the world. With an airstrip next to the track and a business park near by, Circuit Paul Ricard is unique and a popular testing destination for F1 teams.

For many years Circuit Paul Ricard hosted the French Grand Prix. This ended in 1991 with F1's move to Magny Cours Circuit. There the French Grand Prix was held until 2008. Starting from 2018, the French Grand Prix will be held in Le Castellet on Circuit Paul Ricard!
