Suzuka International Circuit is located in Suzuka, 50 km south-west of Nagoya in Japan. The nearest airport to the circuit is Tokyo International Airport. From there you can take the train to Nagoya; JR Tokaido Shinkansen is a direct line from Tokyo to Nagoya. This is a high speed train operated by Japan Railways that can take you to Nagoya in 1,5 hours. There are also local trains that drive this route, but this takes about 6 hours. The local trains are cheaper though. You can also choose to travel by high speed bus. This journey also takes 5 to 6 hours and costs a little more than the local train and a little less than the high speed train. In exchange you do get more luxury in comparison with the local trains.
To precede your journey from Nagoya to the Suzuka circuit you can take the metro. This is the easiest way to travel, because every line has its own color. You can ask for a map at every metro station. Another possibility is to travel by train. You can take the Kintetsu Suzuka Line to Inou Station. You can also travel by taxi, but this is quite expensive and unnecessary if trains and subways are driving. At nighttime however, a taxi might be the only possibility.
There are some car rental companies in Japan, but it is strongly discouraged to travel by car. The Japanese traffic is not understandable for foreigners and extremely crowded. Parking fees are also extremely high. Especially in the major cities it is recommended to travel by metro, train and bus.
Accommodation There are not many hotels to find in Suzuka. The nearest major city is Nagoya. You can look for a hotel there, but it is recommended to stay in Tokyo. This city is friendlier for tourists and there are many fine hotels to find. Click on the links to find a hotel that suits you. |
