The German GP is best known for its incredible straights through the forest where cars reached top speeds of around 350 kmph. This has (sadly) changed in an effort to cope with modern f1 standards. The track has been shortened significantly. It still has some nice straights but most fans would rather have seen the long circuit remain. There are two advantages: some great new grandstands and enclosures (Parabolika, Spitzkehre and Mercedes Arena) and cars will pass more often (22 times more often!). |
