Lewis Hamilton has won the 2010 Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul. With teammate Jenson Button finishing 2nd, it was a 1-2 win for McLaren. This was Hamilton's 1st victory of the Formula 1 2010 season. Both Hamilton and Button had a slow start which left them in 3rd and 4th position. Mark Webber was leading the Turkish Formula 1 Grand Prix for most of the Turkish F1 race with Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel behind him. But in Vettel's attempt to pass Webber on lap 41, the drivers crashed and cleared the road for the two McLaren teammates. After the crash, Vettel left the race while Webber raced in 3rd place behind Button and Hamilton. Ultimately he also finished in this position at Istanbull Park. Even though Webber was not able to win the Turkish Grand Prix, he was still leading the 2010 driver's Championship with 93 points. Jenson Button, the 2009 World Champion, claimed the 2nd position with 88 points. His teammate Lewis Hamilton (2008 World Champion) became 3rd with 84 points, dropping Fernando Alonso from 3rd to 4th with 79 points. Sebastian Vettel dropped to 5th after scoring no points.

Historic info Istanbul Turkey
The Turkish Grand Prix debuted in 2005. It is held at the newly built Istanbul Park Circuit. The Turkish GP circuit is only the third anti-clockwise circuit on the Formula 1 calendar after Imola and Brazil. Tilke has stressed how the track follows the contours of the land, which dips and falls. This is in contrast to some of his other recent tracks, the topography of which did not allow such variation. It takes an influence from many of the world's best race tracks. Corner 1 is very similar to corner one in Autódromo José Carlos Pace, Brazil. Because of the nature of the circuit the 2005 Turkish Grand Prix weekend saw exciting on-track action, with many drivers spinning off throughout the weekend due to pushing too hard.
