Pole starter Vettel was leading the Hungarian F1 Grand Prix at the start. Webber was rather slow off the line and it did not take long for Alonso to pass him. Jenson Button also had a slow start as he dropped to 15th position. However, Button had no intention of giving up and ultimately pulled himself to 8th position. Kamui Kobayashi on the other hand, pulled himself from 23rd on the grid to 16th by the end of the 1st lap. In total, there were 4 retirements during the Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix. Vettel got a drive-through penalty for leaving more than 10 car lengths between himself and teammate Webber after the restart. And because of the penalty, Alonso took 2nd place. Vettel tried to overtake him, but did not get a good chance. Lewis Hamilton was racing in 4th position after he overtook Felipe Massa, but had to retire due to a broken gear box. Though he is not many points behind, it did cost him his Championship lead. Massa ultimately finished 4th. Ultimately Mark Webber won the Formula 1 Grand Prix Hungary on the Hungaroring F1 circuit, it was his 4th Formula 1 race win of the 2010 season. With his victory, he retook his Formula 1 Championship lead as former leader Lewis Hamilton failed to finish for McLaren.

Historic info Budapest Hungary
A major coup by Bernie Ecclestone, the 1986 Hungarian Grand Prix was the first Formula 1 race to take place behind the Iron Curtain. Taking place at the twisty Hungaroring near Budapest, the race has been a mainstay of the racing calendar. Run in the heat of a central European summer, it also holds the distinction of being the only current Grand Prix venue that has never seen a wet race. The first Grand Prix saw 200,000 people spectating, although tickets cost several time the average Hungarian's wage at the time. Today, the support is still very enthusiastic, particularly from Finns, who travel down in the absence of a Scandinavian Grand Prix.
