General information
The Hungaroring is located some 25 minutes by car from Budapest centre. It offers quite a few grandstands most of which are located around the start-finish straight. Parking is well organized but you may need to walk a bit of you have one of the stands on the outside of the track. The facilities are quite good and the restrooms are decent. Quality of the seating is okay with most stands offering bucket seats. The Super Gold stand is the only covered stand and knowing it is usually very hot in Hungary in August that is no luxury.
Viewing quality
Viewing quality is determined by the track location of the stand. In Hungary they also use the Gold, Silver and Bronze categories. All the (Super) Gold stands are on the main straight and offer pit lane action with the exception of Gold 4. This stand is located at the end of the straight around the first corner. This corner is now tighter than before so the brakes will be tested here. There are just a few stands at other locations like Silver 1 and Bronze. The most popular stand has always been Silver 3 in the last turn.
Prices
The prices for the F1 tickets the Hungarian F1 Grand Prix in Budapest are lower than average. The Super Gold at a little over 400 Euro is pretty expensive but the very interesting Gold 4 stand at only 325 Euro for the Weekend is a good offer. Silver 3, 4 and 5 with a great view of the cars turning onto the main straight at around 250 Euro is a very decent offer. Stand Silver 4 now has a family ticket as well which offers entry for an adult with 1 child for only 30 Euros more. General Admission is available for around 150 Euro. These prices are priority prices. From January onward prices will increase by as much as 10%.
Best Deal
The best deal on F1 tickets for the Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix is the Gold 4 grandstand. Yes it is not really cheap but the quality of the action is spectacular. This is the corner everything happens in. Overtaking is difficult on this track so this is one of the few points it can be done. If 330 Euro is too stiff for your liking than consider the Silver 3 stand or even Silver 1 as they offer a good alternative.
