How to get to Barcelona Spain
Barcelona's El Prat de Llobregat airport is 12 kilometres southwest of the city and has connections to all major European destinations. There are trains, buses and taxis connecting the airport and the city. The efficient Metro system provides an easy way for getting around the city centre. To get to Montmelo from Barcelona, you can travel by metro.
How to get to the track (and back)
You can get to Circuit de Catalunya by bus, car or train. The track is a half-hour drive north of Barcelona. If you're not driving, you can take the train to Montmelo station, which is a half-hour walk from the circuit. By bus it take around 45 minutes. By train from Barcelona take line 2 Renfe Barcelona Macanet Massanes, starting from railway station Sants. Rail services every 30 min.
There are many car rental companies in Spain. You can find most of them at the airport in Madrid or you can book a car online by clicking here. If you travel by car from Madrid, follow the signs to Zaragoza/Barcelona. Take the exit towards Barcelona and follow the signs to Montmelo. Follow the signs to Circuit de Catalunya.
Parking options
Parking tickets are sold by the circuit. Parking open at 7:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday. Car Parks close at night. It is forbidden to leave any vehicle at the circuit parking.
Where to stay
For your stay in Spain, you can book a hotel in Montmelo or in Barcelona. The hotels in Montmelo are closer to the circuit, but in Barcelona there are more hotels to find. Do note the half hour travel time to the circuit if you stay in Barcelona. Click on the links to find a hotel that suits you.
