Circuit de Catalunya description Barcelona Spain
The Circuit de Catalunya is 4.627 meters long. The race of 66 laps makes a total racing distance of 305,3 kilometers. On this Spanish F1 circuit it is primarily about speed. It is one of the most modern circuits in the world and a popular test track during the winter due to the mild Spanish weather. F1 Circuit de Catalunya has 3 routes: the Grand Prix track (4,655 km); the National track (3,067 km) and the RAAC School track (1,703 km).
The circuit's long straight has a length of nearly 1 km which makes it one of the longest in the world. The circuit consists of low speed corners as well as sharp high speed corners. Because wind directions change during the day, the cars' aerodynamics has to be well adjusted. Circuit Catalunya is all about speed, but in a few low speed corners drivers have to ally on their techniques.
